Eight prizes for Haacht Brewery beers at the World Beer Awards and the International Beer Challenge
Haacht Brewery was awarded an astonishing eight prizes at the recent World Beer Awards and International Beer Challenge. The winners were SUPER 8, Mystic, Charles Quint and Tongerlo.
This year Charles Quint Ommegang, SUPER 8 IPA and Charles Quint Ruby Red were awarded a Belgian gold, silver and bronze medal respectively at the World Beer Awards. The Charles Quint classics won two awards. The straw yellow Ommegang, with its herbal bitterness and hints of citrus, won the gold medal in the category ‘Pale Beer - Golden Ale’, and the dark, complex Charles Quint Ruby Red won bronze in the category ‘Dark Beer – Belgian Style Strong’. The much newer SUPER 8 family also attracted attention, with a silver plaque for SUPER 8 IPA in the category ‘IPA English Style’. These three World Beer Awards are an addition to the many prestigious accolades bestowed upon Haacht Brewery.
The jury of the International Beer Challenge also loved the taste of our beers. They gave the gold medal to our spicy white beer SUPER 8 Blanche, while the herby, amber SUPER 8 IPA was awarded silver. A bronze medal went to Tongerlo LUX, Tongerlo NOX and the fruit beer Mystic Cherry.
