Haacht Brewery’s Tongerlo Tripel voted ‘World’s Best Belgian Style Tripel’
SUPER8 IPA wins the Belgium silver
At the renowned World Beer Awards in London this Thursday, Haacht Brewery's Tongerlo Tripel was voted 'World's Best Belgian Style Tripel'. SUPER 8 IPA won the Belgium silver medal. Both medals are a great recognition for Haacht Brewery.
"The 'Belgian Style Tripel' category is a popular one in which a lot of great national and international beers are represented," explains Lien Meeus, Managing Director Marketing and Communications. "We are very proud that Tongerlo Tripel was voted the world’s best in this category. This fantastic recognition underlines the commitment of our employees and their constant focus on quality."
The award is yet another boost for the Tongerlo abbey beers. In 2014, Tongerlo Blond, another variant from the range, won the title of ‘World’s Best Beer’ across all categories at the same World Beer Awards.
Versatile range of top quality
Since the launch of the first SUPER 8 beers, the range has won some 20 awards at various leading beer competitions. With the Belgium silver medal at this year’s World Beer Awards, the spicy SUPER 8 IPA is up to its eighth medal.
"This medal confirms that the innovative character of our SUPER 8 beers is highly appreciated by beer connoisseurs and shows that our expertise is recognized worldwide. It motivates us once again to continue building on the success of this series", says Lien Meeus.
Judged by an international jury
The World Beer Awards is considered one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. In the first phase of the competition, its professional, internationally jury selects a 'country winner' per category. Only these country winners go on to the next round to compete for the world title.
