Haacht Brewery officially presents its rebranded Star Light beer

17 Nov 2018
  • Full rebranding: new name, look and flavour
  • 60 per cent fewer calories than your average Belgian lager

Haacht Brewery is presenting its new Star Light beer at Horeca Expo. This alcohol-free beer, which used to be known as Star Blond, has been rebranded with an entirely new flavour and appearance.

The new Star Light has been developed especially for consumers who consciously choose to enjoy the benefits of low-calorie, alcohol-free beer. This beer, with its unique revamped recipe, is a real thirst quencher, with an alcohol content of just 0.4% and 60% fewer calories than the average Belgian lager.

New taste, new look

Star Light is brewed with water, barley malt and maize. It has a light golden colour and a white foam head. The taste of herby hops is dominant, with a full-bodied flavour, a malty body and a delicate, slightly bitter aftertaste. That makes it the ideal refreshing thirst quencher for any occasion.

The design of the new packaging was inspired by the colour of the beer. The stylish label is bright gold and clearly states that this is a low-calorie, alcohol-free beer. The star, with the integrated letter E, is a nod to the beer’s origins: it was first brewed at the former Excelsior brewery in Ghent. You can drink this beer from the bottle or pour it in a brand-new glass.

Boudewijn van der Kelen, the marketing director at Haacht Brewery, says, “Modern beer consumers increasingly expect their catering establishments to serve tasty alcohol-free beers as well. And rightly so, because that allows everyone to enjoy a refreshing pint even if they want to drive home, go to the gym afterwards, or have other reason for wanting to moderate their alcohol intake. Our new Star Light has a contemporary taste and appearance that responds perfectly to those needs.”
