AB and Haacht Brewery join forces with the new AB Café and SUPER 8 on tap

23 Jan 2025

With refreshing SUPER 8 Pils on tap and a farewell concert by the Belgian EBM group Front 242, the Brussels music house AB and Haacht Brewery celebrated their new collaboration in style last night. From now on, local, sustainable and 100% Belgian SUPER 8 beer will flow through AB’s taps. The collaboration will endure into the future with an accessible, convivial corner café on the pedestrian area. This new AB Café will become the beating heart of the music house’s operations and will contribute to an even more intense musical experience at AB.

With Haacht Brewery, AB will now have a truly local partner on the bar. The independent, 100% Belgian family brewery is located less than 24 kilometres from AB. This collaboration fits comfortably within AB’s sustainability policy. With SUPER 8, AB presents a brand-new beer experience that offers something for all tastes: from the refreshing SUPER 8 Pils and SUPER 8 Blanche to the SUPER 8 Flandrien 0.0, for those who prefer an alcohol-free experience. The robust Ommegang Tripel and the fruity Mystic Krieken also join the menu.

“Our collaboration with Haacht Brewery fits perfectly within our vision. Our halls will be enriched not only by high-quality beer, but also the passion and craftsmanship of a 125-year-old local brewery. We also aim to create together with Haacht an accessible and convivial new corner café in the pedestrian zone. This will contribute to our thriving city centre and elevate the concert experience to another level,” states Tom Bonte, general director of AB.

It’s no secret that AB is in the midst of a metamorphosis from a traditional concert hall to an open music house. Renovation work on the Steenstraat/Rue des Pierres commenced last year. Thanks to this collaboration with one of our country’s largest family breweries, the long-awaited corner café on the Boulevard Anspachlaan is taking shape. In time, this will become the beating heart of the music house AB’s operations.

“Our partnership with AB is a perfect match for family’s DNA. Just like the Brussels concert venue, we value local character and a high-quality experience – things you can taste in our SUPER 8, Ommegang and Mystic beers. With our 100% Belgian approach, we aim to elevate the fan experience to a higher level, hand-in-hand with AB. This feels like the start of a long, sustainable success story,” says Boudewijn van der Kelen, CEO of Haacht Brewery.
