Three medals for Haacht Brewery at the World Beer Awards in London
Boortmeerbeek, 25 August 2025 – Haacht Brewery has won three medals at the prestigious World Beer Awards in London. Tongerlo Tripel obtained gold in the Pale Beer Belgian Style Triple category. Tongerlo Blond scored bronze in the Pale Beer Belgian Style Blonde category, and Primus also took bronze in the Classic Pilsener lager category.
‘Our beers only come onto the market once a professional panel has approved their taste and quality. The fact that an international jury has once again recognised and appreciated this confirms our dedication and our efforts. It is a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work of all our colleagues, because together we make a difference. We are proud of this result,’ explains Baudouin van der Kelen, CEO of Haacht Brewery.
The Tongerlo Tripel abbey beer has won several awards. Bottle-fermented with a hoppy aroma and spicy, intense fruit aromas such as peach and banana, this triple beer charms the international jury time and time again with its full-bodied flavor. Tongerlo Blond also confirmed its status, this time with a bronze medal. In 2014, Tongerlo Blond won first gold across all categories and countries at the World Beer Awards as the best of the best.
The brewery's classic lager, Primus, won bronze in the fiercely contested Classic Pilsener category. This 100% Belgian classic still offers the same taste experience as the authentic recipe: delicate hop aromas with a slightly sweet attack and restrained bitterness that culminates in a dry and thirst-quenching finish. Haacht Brewery is currently working on the launch of two new Primus variants, which will be launched in the course of this autumn.
At the World Beer Awards, taste and quality are the decisive criteria in the blind evaluation process. A team of international judges individually assesses the quality of the beers submitted. A World Beer Award is a seal of quality that aims to support consumers in their search for delicious beers of the highest quality.
